Soles for Souls NCBC is a nonprofit ministry organized in memory of Reverend Billy and Johan Turpin, with one sole purpose: providing shoes to families in need across Northeast Texas.
Brother Billy ministered for more than 50 years. His wife Johan was passionate about anything that had to do with children's ministry — that's where you would always find her. Nearly a decade ago, this ministry was started to carry their love forward, one pair of shoes at a time.
Today, Soles for Souls works hand-in-hand with 35 Communities In Schools (CIS) directors across the Northeast Texas area. When a director sees a child who needs shoes, we make sure a brand-new pair — the right size, picked with care — finds its way to them.
The ministry is overseen by Callie Thompson and Shelby Robinson — granddaughters of Billy and Johan, walking in their grandparents' footsteps.
